Surfing Pororoca: The Amazon’s Endless Tidal Wave

In the Amazon basin, there is a tidal phenomenon the locals call Pororoca, which translates to Big Roar. On an incoming tide, a wave gets pushed up through the river and runs for miles. Some enterprising young surfers like Serginho Laus have figured out how to surf it.
