“I was looking for any excuse not to ski it”.
Dave Treadway has skied some crazy stuff in his time and is no stranger to the British Columbia backcountry, but even this line made him think twice. Situated on a massive spine jutting out from the mountain wall, this line had a narrow access point of maybe a foot wide which Dave had to shimmy along in order to get to the drop in point. Any slips and it would have been pretty much a full out free fall down what looks like a thousand meters of eighty degree pitch. It’s almost painful to watch, but the risk turns out to be worth the reward.
Check out Dave’s son Kasper, maybe the first 3 year old to go helicopter skiing, or check availability at Stellar Heliskiing in British Columbia for plank walks of your own!
