Hadley Hammer’s career as a professional skier is probably shorter than you think.

A native of Jackson, she went to hospitality school in New Hampshire with the aim of managing her own hotel back home. After school, she returned to Jackson as Assistant Manager of a hotel, skiing casually throughout. At the encouragement of friends, she entered a freeskiing competition just six years ago in Jackson and lost terribly, skiing the whole run Bode Miller style in the back seat. However, she caught the competition bug and continued skiing these tournaments, forming the career that brought her into our view as a Teton Gravity Research Athlete.
