The legendary Mike Wiegele of Mike Wiegele’s Helicopter Skiing was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Thompson Rivers University this past week.

The iconic skier who first pioneered helicopter skiing in British Columbia received his doctorate at the Thompson Rivers University graduation ceremony in Kamloops, BC amongst friends, family, and other graduating students.

His contribution to the sport of heli skiing is hard to match. Mike Wiegele’s Helicopter Skiing is about to hit its 50th year of operation, and has never compromised on quality or experience.

Mike Wiegele’s Heli Skiing operation was one of the first in the business, accessing the prodigious stashes of powder and terrain that backcountry BC has to offer in the Cariboo and Monashee ranges.
