Big news from Points North Heli! The esteemed heli skiing operation in Alaska has secured the Chugach National Forest Service Special Use Permit for heli skiing and riding this winter. This new development opens up literally thousands of miles of amazing terrain right at the doorstep of the five star home base. Not only that, but there are still a handful of seats available in February through April of 2019. Here’s what Points North Heli had to say about the new permit:
“For the 2019 season, Points North Heli-Adventures is the proud recipient of the new Chugach National Forest Service Special Use Permit for helicopter skiing and riding. We will be accessing amazing terrain that is close to our base lodge as well as tapping into Forest Service terrain that contains some classic “jewels” of the Chugach. We’ve worked long and hard for this special use permit. We can’t wait to share it with new and return guests this season.”
Over the past decade, the Chugach Range has proven to be the premier destination worldwide for helicopter skiing and boarding. Accessed by ferry or plane, Cordova is unlike any other community in the state. Alaska Airlines flies into Cordova twice daily from Seattle and Anchorage. Upon arrival, a Points North Heli team member will greet you and help with your luggage. A short, fifteen-minute drive to home base offers many opportunities to see bald eagles, moose and the beautiful town of Cordova. Along the way you will also view the breath taking Chugach Mountains that you will soon be skiing or riding. Points North Heli’s base location in Cordova is 40 miles from Valdez and provides you with a ‘private’ playground right in the backyard!
This new permit allows Points North to take clients into even more outrageous terrain with one of the best winters yet hitting Alaska as we speak.
