Kelly Slater Wave Company had been working on this wave for the better part of a decade before Kelly dropped into the first wave on December 5th, 2015. The artificial wave is a masterpiece of modern technology. At 700 meters long, the wave is generated by a hydrofoil attached two rails that travels up to 19 miles per hour. Years of designing and tweaking culminated in this perfect wave, ready at the touch of a button.
