It’s hard to beat a multisport day—mixing up your favorite activities between sun up and sun down to spend as much time outside as possible. And there’s no better season to make it happen than summer, AKA now.

If you’re a multisport type of person, or you’re ready to be one, we have just the agenda for you: a ski-bike-kite adventure in Oregon. Let’s jump in.

Step One: Ski / Ride

There’s nothing quite like summer skiing up on Mount Hood. It’s all the joys of flying down a snow-covered peak without any of the cold-weather gear. Throw on your favorite Hawaiin Tee, make your way up to the Timberline Lodge, grab a ticket ($89 per person), and let it rip. The season is winding down as we head into August, but there are plenty of turns to be had. Not to mention, how many people do you know who’ve skied in July or August? Major bragging rights are up for grabs here, folks.

Lucky for you, Timberline offers prime mountain biking in the summertime, too. The trail crew has worked hard to open up a wide range of terrain catering to all abilities—from mellow, flowing options like Gravy Train, to expert-level routes like Bro-Biwan (quite possibly the best-named trail of all time.) Tickets are $46, and if you don’t have MTB gear, the rental shop will hook you up with the best of the best.

Once you’ve found your ski/ride/MTB fix up at Timberline, it’s time to cool off with a proper kitesurf session. Enjoy the scenic, forested drive back to Hood River (one hour) with views of the Hood River Valley, and make your way down to the one and only Cascade Kiteboarding. These folks will provide a kiting experience unlike any other, with stellar winds and water thanks to the beautiful Columbia River, which sits on the border of Oregon and Washington.

Address:

Hood River Event Site, Portway Ave, Hood River, OR 97031
