Majestic Heli Ski wants to show you the best ski experience and vacation of your life. Their experienced guide staff and operation help skiers experience the greatest untracked powder of their lives without the hassles, crowds, traffic, and lift lines. Majestic is located in the Chugach Mountains of Alaska, offering skiers and snowboarders the chance at a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Majestic Heli operates two helicopters, one snowcat, a charming and comfortable lodge, and more skiable acres than every resort in the contiguous U.S. – making it the kind of place skiers dream about.
Majestic Heli Ski has something for everyone, including high-alpine terrain, open bowls, spines, low-angle powder, ramps, couloirs, and long glacier runs. There are some epic descents at Majestic Heli, with ski “runs” ranging from 1,000 feet to 4,500 feet plus. If you’re looking to get in some serious vertical, this is the place. You won’t find tree skiing here, as you’ll be skiing in the alpine and on glaciers. The elevation band you’ll be skiing is between 2500 feet (762 meters) to 10,000 feet (3000 meters), so altitude sickness is not an issue.
For beginners, they can serve up low-angle powder runs, or for expert skiers, you can find the type of terrain that will scare even the most hard-charging skier. You’ll ski 6-10 runs a day and enjoy lunch in the field. After a full day of skiing, it is back to the lodge for appetizers, drinks, great stories, and an amazing dinner. They have access to a massive tenure, which means you can explore all types of terrain. The ski season lasts from February through May. Contrary to popular belief, Alaska is not a cold, dark place during the ski season. February has an average of 11 hours of daylight and up to 16 hours in April.
Located in the pass between Anchorage and Valdez, storms come in from the Pacific Ocean providing consistent snowfall. Daytime temperatures are just like you would likely find at your local ski resort. And, with two helicopters and a snowcat backup, you’re less likely to get shut down due to weather — a common occurrence at most heli-ski operations.
The Majestic Heli Ski Lodge is nestled in the heart of the Northern Chugach and Talkeetna Mountains. The spacious traditional Alaskan lodge has everything you need, including a full-service bar and helicopter right outside your door. Take in panoramic views from the hot tub or watch the Northern Lights dance in the night sky from the deck. In winter, cross-country ski trails and hiking trails are ideal to explore during no-fly days. All packages are double occupancy. Single rooms are subject to availability and an additional charge. If you have family or friends who are non-skiers and would like them to experience Alaska with you, they offer a modified accommodation package.
If 4,000-foot runs of untracked Alaskan powder, an all-inclusive lodge, and a top-notch staff sound like the trip you’ve been dreaming about, check out Majestic Heli Ski!
