On the Qiantang River in Hangzhou, China there is a massive tidal wave that appears on an incoming tide from the Hangzhou Bay. It can reach up to 30 feet high and reach speeds of 25 miles per hour on a strong tide. The Silver Dragon leads the charge up a previously calm river, but is followed by chop and waves that transform the nature of the river.

Surfers Robert “Wingnut” Weaver, Mary Osborne, Everaldo “Pato” Teixeira, and Curren Caples show us how to have fun with it.
