Out in Squamish, British Columbia there is a bay with high winds call the Squamish Spit. Like anywhere with water and wind, there is a great crew of kiteboarders who have cropped up to take advantage! For BC kiteboarders and beyond, it is legendary. In just a few years, KiteClash has become Canada’s biggest kiteboard event. The 6th annual KiteClash took place just a few weeks ago, and this video from Antoine Verville serves up a nice recap of how it all went down. Riders competed for Big Air, Freestyle prizes and more. The winners of the freestyle event – Lucas Arsenault and Lauren Holman – were crowned Canadian champion.
For us, it’s super cool to see people kiteboarding in a place that we love to heli ski. Kind of thinking we should invest in some heavier wet suits and move there…
