Some destinations in this world are so good—so dreamy—you want to stay forever and call them home.
Chalet Pelerin in Miroir, France, falls squarely into this category. Sitting at the foot of the Rhone-Alps, this luxury ski chalet has all the bells and whistles.
Fine Dining
Let’s start with the food. A personal chef prepares unforgettable meals around the cloc˚k–bringing the best of France and Italy to every course. Breakfast is typically a mix of French cheese, farm-fresh eggs, and yogurt, delivered right to your door. Lunch is often enjoyed out in the mountains—varying depending on which country you’re in. Perhaps a classic Italian pasta dish, or a flavorful French polenta and diot. Dinner is served back at the chalet where chef Hannah masterminds dishes like pumpkin velouté with Beaufort cheese and croutons, perfected fondue, and more. Wine is a central part of the dining experience, as well, coordinated by an in-house Sommelier.
Extraordinary Skiing
Now let’s talk about the skiing. This is a true, choose-your-own-adventure scenario, right out of your front door. More avid skiers and snowboarders can dive fully into a premiere heliskiing experience. Fly into the best of the Alps with your crew and enjoy untracked powder between Italy and France. There are endless ski-touring opportunities in the area as well with the help of knowledgeable guides.
Meanwhile, those looking for a more casual experience can take advantage of the abundant ski resort scene at destinations like Tignes and Val d’Isère. Oftentimes, these experiences are blended together—combining a resort skiing, with out-of-bounds ski touring, with heliskiing. It’s the best of all worlds.
The Chalet
Last but not least, the chalet itself. With four suites and a bunkroom, the chalet sleeps up to 10 comfortably. And while each sleeping area is overflowing with luxury, it’s the common spaces that really make this experience stand out. The open-plan living area has a front-row view of Mot Pourri, accented by 1800s-era wooden beams and a double-sided fireplace. The dining area is straight out of a dream—each chair covered in sheepskin with an open view of the kitchen where chef Hannah works. A cozy media room offers massive sofas and throws for kicking back and relaxing with a show, movie, or video fame. And of course, the spa provides all the R&R you need after a long stay on the hill—outfitted with a steam room, sauna, and oxygenated freshwater pool.
