Our newest ski offering at Heli is this 9 day adventure to the islands of Svalbard and Jan Mayen, just 600 miles south of the North Pole. Ice Axe Expeditions provides a week of sailing around the fjords and mountains of Svalbard, with the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the unbelievably unique scenery, ecosystem, and backcountry opportunities of the Arctic.

Designed for intermediate and expert backcountry skiers alike, this trip is tailor made for those who want to experience something a little bit different for their next luxury ski destination. The trip includes 7 days of backcountry touring via sailboat. Guests will sail around the fjords of Svalbard with expert guides and sailors, moving in and around some of the best and most scenic backcountry skiing that the world has to offer. The mothership, Valiente, tows two zodiacs for reaching terrain and touring equipment is required to reach the peaks of Svalbard. The crew will take you through some of the island’s best runs, but will also be seeking out first descents throughout the week.
